The students earned a place at the camp by writing an essay on why they were deserving of the ex-perience or were one of the winners of the Coastal Awareness Student competition. Students attending the camp were from Andros, Abaco, Acklins, Cat Island, Crooked Island, Eleuthera and New Providence.</p>]]></description>

As one of the smallest National Parks in The Bahamas, Peterson Cay is located off of the southern shore of Grand Bahama; just 7 miles East of Lucaya. It is a windswept and sparsely vegetated limestone island, and the only cay on the south side of Grand Bahama (Figure 1). As it currently stands, the protected park area, which was established in 1968, encompasses the entire cay itself. </p>]]></description>
