Shark Campaign
The Bahamas National Trust (BNT) is honored to work with the Pew Environment Group to further Shark Conservation in The Bahamas. Globally the demand for shark fins, meat, liver, oil and other products have driven numerous shark populations to the brink of extinction.
In The Bahamas, our shark populations are diverse and healthy and we have an opportunity to be proactive in protecting a species that is key to maintaining balance in marine ecosystems. The Bahamas is one of the top destinations to snorkel or dive with sharks. One study calculated that up to $78 million a year is earned in revenue from tourists wanting to dive and snorkel with sharks.
Below are some materials produced for the Shark campaign.
Residents of the Bahamas, 18years and older may sign the petition only. Send completed forms back to the BNT office on your island or your Island Administrator.
For the children of all ages. Draw your favorite shark or write your message for the protection of sharks. Fill in your information and hand it into a BNT office on your island or Island Administrator.
