Mr.McKinney commented that one of his goals when he became President was to continue to support the great work done by our regional committee in Grand Bahama, but to also encourage the formation of more BNT regional committees. He reported that the BNT now has a regional committee in Exuma branch and that the Trust is working with members on Long Island to establish a regional committee.

Four Past Presidents of the BNT were recognized for their outstanding dedication and commitment to the Bahamas National Trust: Macgregor Robertson, Past Chair of the Wildlife Committee and Chair of the BNT Fundraising Committee; Mr. John F. Bethell, Deputy President and Chair of the Retreat Committee; Mr. Pericles Maillis, long serving member of the Wildlife Committee, Volunteer coordinator for the ongoing work at the Primeval Forest and donor of many hours of pro bono legal advice including assisting with the drafting of the new BNT Act and Mr. Glen Bannister, who during six terms as President promoted access to National Parks and saw infrastructure installed and upgraded at Harrold and Wilson Ponds National Park, Bonefish Pond National Park and Lucayan National Park. “Usually, once Presidents have served their terms of office they step away from organizations”, said Deputy Executive Director Lynn Gape, “but these gentlemen have all served multiple terms as President and have continued to actively serve the organization truly showing their dedication and commitment to the Bahamas National Trust.”
